Spain is the second country in the world in the number of visitors.

Spain has many different attractions to offer such as museums, ancient and historic buildings, plazas, beautiful nature, varied culture, sports, golf courses, beaches, and the Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine that is considered one of the best and healthiest in the world.

Spain is becoming more attractive for hotel investors worldwide.

As real estate values keep on increasing, the tourist industry keeps on growing and the number of visitors continues to climb, causing the demand for hotel accommodations.

While sun and beach remains the star of Spanish tourism, Spain is now the country with the fastest growth in alternative tourism, that being rural, ecological, urban and cultural tourism. Spain's first industry is tourism and the Spanish government, as it has always done in the past, has made a strong commitment to further promote its tourist industry. Fifty percent of its promotional budget will be assigned to the sun and beach concept which represents about 80 percent of Spain's total tourist revenues.
Culture, as well as other alternative tourism, will be promoted. It is expected to grow by 35% over the next five years.

Owners of hotel properties located at the popular beach locations are seeing the opportunity to extend their vacation season by offering a combination of sun and beach with alternative activities such as cultural attractions, sports and adventure.
In the Valencia regions you have the famous sunny beaches with many added local attractions such as Terra Mitica, a theme park, which guarantees to attract millions of visitors each year. In addition, alternative activities can also be promoted. For example, in the heart of the province of Murcia, located south of Alicante, lies the Ricote Valley which is an attractive area for outdoor adventure and nature activities such as rafting on the Segura River, hiking, climbing or horseback riding. Nearby is the Sierra Espuña Natural Reserve with dense forestation. Historical cities like Valencia are nearby which offers a wide array of attractions such as the City of Arts and Sciences that places Spain in the forefront of the international art scene. The region also has many orange groves and wineries that open up to all other kinds of activities.

With 8000 kilometers of coastline, Spain has the great potential for developing nautical tourism. There is only one place in Europe where you can play golf all year round and that is in the south of Spain. There are more than 240 golf courses and important international tournaments are held each year throughout the country.

Spain, like no other country, has so much to offer in a variety of different tourist attractions; its geographical location, climate, culture, Mediterranean cuisine and the many other attractions, will ensure that the number of visitors will grow over the years, which will provide incredible opportunities for hotel investors.
